Reynolds’s father appeared joyous and in full support of what his son had done. He was his son after all.

Alicia, the center of attraction, was totally surprised. Everything came as a shock to her. It all felt real to her. Her fairytale dreams were all coming true right before her eyes.

The guests started cheering and applauding. Alicia didn’t move an inch since she was balanced after the spin. The usual, rather cliché, way of proposing was going down on one knee. Reynolds didn’t do that; he wouldn’t do that for any woman. Never.

He asked for her hands, took the ring out of the case, and pushed it freely into her middle finger. Alicia did everything he asked her to without objecting or thinking twice. She placed her hands on his without having him ask twice. It was clear from her expression that it took her aback.

Why was he going so much just for a week? She thought he wanted to make the whole charade worthy of praise, but then…
