“McCurdy, they are here. The Boss needs you.” Dan’s voice and words filled her belly with dangerous butterflies.

She nodded her head, swallowed deeply, straightened her knee-length office skirt, and made her way to Clayton’s.

She took deep breaths at the door, opened it, and went inside. The men were seated facing Clayton. Ruth tried to stay calm while appearing delighted.
