Chapter 54

Ashton was getting ready for work when his phone rang, he wore his wristwatch first before going to take his phone from the table, he saw it was his informant calling and hurriedly answered the call.

"Hello."

"Mr Ashton, I did some digging and found out who Adams Carter truly is to Alicia Davis."

"Alright, go ahead." Ashton urged.

"He's actually her Ex-husband."

"What!?" Ashton blurted out in shock. "Ex-husband?" He asked to be sure he heard correctly.

"That's right Sir, they got divorced six years ago due to the fact that Alicia couldn't produce an heir, so his family tagged her barren and mistreated her. After their divorce, Alicia left Seattle and only just returned, but she returned with a little girl who's her daughter, although the father's identity is yet to be confirmed." 

Ashton sighed deeply. "Alright, that'll be all for now, thank you for your hard work, I've wired some money into your bank account."
