She felt grateful for his thoughtfulness towards her because if not if his words and the words gotten from Nanny Esther this morning she was going to be a wreck but after the pep talk she had received courage from where she did not know.

As soon as they got to the police department, Tiana headed for the DPO’s office. She then approached the woman who had brought the news that had caused her so much distress. The woman explained everything from beginning to end: what she had done that day, how Elodie had been hit on the head and had her arms bound, and how she was saved by some men who came to fish by the river. The woman recounted how she had made up her mind to come back and help Tiana after seeing her cry that day. She didn’t want to be the reason someone noticed a woman in trouble without taking action
