Chapter 109. Cutting Blood Saga: pt. 2

Seeing my mom adapting well to her bullet injury, I can’t help but smile as I approach her.

She and Zachili arrived just seconds ago. And while she’s looking around confused and probably searching for me with her eyes, Zachili has fallen into Oasis’s trap.

“Mom?” I call when she doesn’t still notice me. On hearing my voice, she instantly looks at my direction and quickly approaches me, her arms spread apart.

She draws me into her embrace, and I relax in it. I would have loved if she had her usual mild scent, as it seems hospital smells have overshadowed it.

“How are you, my baby?” she asks when we disengage, shifting a stray strand of hair on my forehead to the side of my face.

“I’m fine, mom. Have you had your meal?”

Without answering, mom tilts her head to the side with a pressed smile. “Come, follow me,” she says while making for a corner of the warehouse where there are two bunk beds.

“I’m right behind you.” I not
