Chapter 111. Bad Side

Zachili maintains eye contact with Zeath as he grabs his hand. I watch him unlock his brother’s wristband then wears it on his own wrist just like he did mine.

Zeath doesn’t stop him. Even I am unable to speak as I regard them.

Zachili later walks off, but, thankfully, not out of the warehouse. He proceeds to remove his gears, earning a huge sigh of relief out of me.

While I sit beside mom on the bed, Zeath comes to me and stands by my side. “Thanks for having my back,” he tells me before greeting mom with a bow.

“I only did it because I thought you were right. As much as I want Saltusa dead, I also have to look at the bigger picture. Killing her won’t bring an end to Project Empire, which I badly want gone as well.”

Zeath nods with a tight smile before suddenly reaching his hand to his coat pocket. “Oh, I have something for you.” He tucks out a freaking envelope and hands it to me.

“What’s that?” I mutter while looking at it.
