Chapter 95. Zeath Just Died
That’s what my scared and anxious mind makes me believe, not until I stop screaming and shut my mouth to realize the grim taste of blood on my tongue. Then I perceive a metallic odor, realizing that Chelsea is no longer in front of me.
Oh, she is but a corpse lying next to my leg.
My eyelashes feel like there’s something sticky on them. I know it’s blood, the same blood soaking some parts of my hair and shoulders. Chelsea’s blood.
My heart has been beating fast to the point I’m scared I may collapse from fear. And, in as much as I feel a wave of sadness as I watch the girl’s corpse, I soon step over her body and make for Zeath.
He never shook even once when she gunshot fired. It makes me wonder whether he’s sleep-standing or something. Even a person asleep would shudder.
“Zeath! Zeath!” I call, yet no response. I cup both his cheeks and shake his face. “Look at me, my love, please wake up!”
