Chapter 19. Horny Hormonal Changes

Elena’s POV

Cass saw the shock register on my face before I could hide it. A small smile played on his lips and like goal-getters, we chuckled loudly and high-fived each other. Below the cliff laid a marketplace filled with people. I have never been more happy to see living creatures — the noises of the marketplace and the birds that graced the air became a comforting lullaby to us, it was music to me.

We jumped down using our supernatural abilities. I checked my wristwatch only to find out we had spent forty minutes out of the allocated time and with haste, we made our way to the creatures which I doubt to be humans because they don’t smell like one.

“I just read their minds, not even a single creature thought about money, sex, or alcohol. What on earth are these people?” Cass narrowed his eyes and squared his shoulders.

“I don’t know but we are about to find out.” I dipped my hands in my leather jacket pockets and made our presence known.
