Chapter 78
Robert held his brother as he breathed his last. He looked at his face; Fabian seemed so peaceful in death, like he was happy to go. Robert let out a loud cry, rocking himself back and forth as he did. In a moment, Louis and Merga ran into the room. They had heard the loud cries of Robert and had come to see if there was a problem. The look on their faces was that of alarm. When they entered the inside of the room and saw Fabian's head cradled in Robert's arms, they immediately understood what had happened. Merga walked slowly to Robert while Louis remained where he was, his head bowed.
"This is over now, Robert," Merga said to him while she rubbed his shoulder. "He is gone. Now we must move on to more important things."
Robert nodded, sniffling, and gently dropped his brother's head on the bed. He got up from the side, looked at Fabian's still face, covered him with the sheets that were spread on his body and left the bedside. In
