The evening of the next day, Louis, Merga and Robert prepare to go to the palace. Louis decides to go ahead of them, to get things ready. Merga then uses a magical fortification for Robert. They hold hands and say the spell together. The magical fortification is so that no metal can penetrate his skin. When it began to get dark, they began their journey to the palace. Robert had on a cloak so that no one would see him. As they entered the city, Merga was taken aback by how big and beautiful it was. She had never seen it before and was astonished by the buildings she saw and the fancy clothes the people wore. For Robert, it was more of nostalgia that he felt. He was thrown back to the time when he was a young prince, not yet king, and free of all the encumbrances of being the ruler of such a mighty kingdom as Linerdo, when he would run wild through the streets with teenage energy, causing all kinds of mischief.
