Chapter 40. Great Escape

Griffin’s POV

As I gathered my thoughts, I could feel the tension of the unknown lingering in the air. I was one step closer to gaining my crown as alpha, and the thought excited me to no end. My father was adamant I was going on this stupid pack run, but I was sure I would not be. It was time to stand up to my father and let him see I wouldn’t be ordered about by him.

“Iris, remember what we talked about,” I said, my voice low and steady. “This is all part of the plan. I need you to stay strong.”

She nodded, but I could see doubt still flickering in her eyes. “I can’t bear to see anyone get hurt. That’s all.” my sister sighed looking across at Ethan who was still fast asleep.

I stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “I won’t let anything happen to him. He means more to me than you realise. This is for both of us. Once this is all over, we’ll be untouchable.”
