Griffin’s POV

I sat nervously in the room that the kind warrior had led me to. I had no idea how Nolan would react to seeing me again so soon. I knew that he must want to rip my head off and slice me into tiny pieces, but I would not blame him for feeling that way.

“Griffin?” Nolan looked surprised to see that it was me.

“Yes, it is me.”

“I didn’t expect to see you here,” Nolan said, crossing his arms over his chest, an imposing figure even in his current state of undress.

“Yeah, I can’t say I expected to be here either,” I replied, forcing a smile despite the tension between us. “I—I came to talk. I figured you wouldn’t want me to linger, but I couldn’t leave things as they were. My sister wants me to prove myself and the first thing on my list is ensuring peace with you.”
