Lyra’s POV
When I reached home, I let myself in and closed the door behind me. The envelope Julian had handed me earlier lay on the coffee table, its flap still sealed. My heart pounded. What could be inside? I reminded myself that it was probably nothing important—just another piece of Binca’s paperwork. If I let them see I didn’t take their phony test results seriously, maybe they’d leave me alone.
I ripped open the envelope and drew out the documents. As soon as I saw the company name, my breath caught in my throat.
