Chapter 83. Confidence
Avery’s POV
I catch a look of amusement in his eyes before it is replaced by indifference. “And?”
If not for the fact that I was working towards us being on good terms, I would have run away. This is too embarrassing, argh!
I try to be confident and place a smile on my lips. “We should eat together.”
“Thank you, but I am not interested.”
What!
I watch dumbfoundedly as he sidesteps me and walks into his bedroom. I stared blankly at the door, not believing what had just happened. Were we going back to how we had first met? Square one?
No way!
I raise my hand to turn the door handle when it is opened from inside, and I quickly retract my hand.
“You said you ‘made’ dinner.” It’s more of a question, and I wonder what he is playing at this time around.
“Yes?”
“Given your effort, I would join you. I cannot let all that hard work go to waste.”
A smile plasters on my lip as he walks ahead of me.
