Avery’s POV

“Honey.”

That caught his attention, and he immediately turned to me. “Sweetheart, what is it?”

Sweetheart…

It’s been a while since he called me in such an affectionate manner, and I held back the big smile that spread on my lips.

“Honey, I think my dress has an issue.” I answer with a small frown on my face. The look of genuine surprise in his eyes is all I need to know that he knows I am lying, but I don’t back out this time and continue with my act.

Belle doesn’t appear pleased at my interruption. “My friend is a good dress maker, let me call her fo—”

I interrupt her. “Thank you, but my husband will help me,” I face Ethan. “Right, honey?”

He nods before taking off his tuxedo and putting it around me. I breathe in the masculine scent of his cologne, which immediately surrounds my senses. I smile at him. “Thank you.”

He doesn’t say anything and turns to Belle Philly. “Excuse us, Miss Belle. My wife needs me.”
