Amelia’s POV
The pounding in my head felt like someone had taken a jackhammer to my skull. I groaned, burrowing deeper under the blanket, but the sunlight slicing through the blinds was merciless.
Pushing myself up in bed, I winced at the slight twinge in my lower back. Dancing on those bar stools in those ridiculous platform heels probably wasn’t the wisest decision, but hey, it had been fun. Last night, I was just Amelia, letting loose and laughing with Kaylee, reliving our carefree college days.
Speaking of Kaylee, the faint aroma of coffee drifting through the bedroom door told me she was already up. With a groan that bordered on a smile, I dragged myself out of bed and stumbled towards the kitchen.
“Rough night?” Kaylee greeted me, her voice laced with amusement as she slid a steaming mug of coffee across the counter. “You look like you wrestled a hangover and lost.”
