I froze at Adrian’s question,unsure of how to answer.

Not because I didn’t know what I wanted,but because everything felt too fresh.Liam was heartbroken.Adrian was bruised,inside and out.And I was the reason behind it all.

So I said the only thing that felt honest.

“I don’t think Liam will want to speak to me again,”I murmured,my fingers tracing the edge of my coat.”And maybe he shouldn’t.”

Adrian looked away then,his jaw tightening just slightly.I didn’t need him to say anything to know what he was thinking.None of this changed anything.

But he was wrong.

Because something had changed.The moment I thought I lost him…everything had shifted.

There was no room left for pretending.No excuses or neat explanations that could fold this all back into something neat.My heart had chosen.I had always known,even when I didn’t want to admit it.

I sat down again,and reached for his hand,”I don’t regret th
