Zevara’s POV

“Leave us, Nina,” he roared, dark, hungry eyes fixed on me like I’m the only one he could see in the room.

Nina’s brows furrowed in a mix of confusion and disbelief. Her eyes shifting suspiciously between Alpha Magnus and I.

I stood, head lowered and my thighs shaking and the heels felt more uncomfortable by each passing second. I didn’t say a word because it sure felt like the air has been ripped off my throat.

Why now?

Why did he want me to remain alone with him?

“Why dad?” Nina asked quietly, her voice barely audible. “Did Zevara do something wrong?”

“Leave, Nina.” His voice grew louder like a storm about to break, leaving no room for argument.

Left with no choice, Nina quickly turned back and started walking upstairs, her eyes darting backward.

I wish I can tell her not to leave.
