Zevara’s POV

“Talon, I want to ask you a question and I want you to be truthful.”

Talon looked at me and nodded frantically. “Ask away, Vara.”

“Was it the love that you have for me that made you treat me so well in the past few days? Or was it because you just wanted to defeat your father?” I asked, my voice was curious.

The Alpha stared at me and smirked. He didn’t say a word; he just walked past us and lowered himself to the single seater couch at the corner of the room.

I’m really curious to know what was going through his mind. Especially how he’d feel to see his son trying so hard to defeat him in a bet I was sure he initiated.

To some extent, I knew what each of the men was capable of. Talon was being truthful when he said Alpha Magnus initiated the bet. I just had to believe him because I know Talon didn’t have the balls to challenge his father to a bet, especially since he knew he wouldn’t have won if he was not manipulative.
