Chapter 13. My New Future

Lyra POV

I don’t know what I did to anger the Alpha King. A deep shudder runs through me as I close the huge entrance doors with a light thud. Whatever happened, it’s clear he’s not coming back.

I have no idea why that bothers me so much.

That strange feeling inside me, that voice, I suppose it is, seems to have gotten stronger since I took the king’s arm. Right now, it’s screaming at me to run after him.

I’m certainly not going to do that.

I step through the common area to the entrance to my suite, these confusing thoughts and emotions running through my head so wildly that I barely notice the voice that greets me.

“Lyra?”

Frozen with surprise, it takes me a moment before I react, but when I do, it’s pure joy. “Cally!”<
