Chapter 67. Visions of the Goddess
Lyra POV
The room shakes, and everything surrounding me fades into a searing bright light. I want to cover my eyes with my hands, but the amulet won’t let me pull my right hand away. It has locked on with a death grip.
“Cassian!” My voice doesn’t even sound like it’s coming out of my throat. It echoes through the light, bouncing off the corners as the room starts to spin.
I don’t see him anywhere, and I don’t even feel him anymore.
And just as quickly as it started, the spinning comes to a halt.
But we’re not in the room anymore.
I’m aware of the birdsong first, high-pitched, casual chirps surrounding me. It’s then that I realize I’m in a forest, thick with green shrubbery and bright purple orchids growing from giant ferns. A stream trickles by me, cry
