Chapter 27

When I came to, I was surprised to be tied down to what looked like an operating table. I had straps on my hands but none on my feet; it turns out they knew I was crippled at this moment. There was a lot of light in the room, though something felt wrong about those white lights.

“Hello, Simeon; nice to have you back. You’ve really caused a lot of trouble so far. You looked so cute, having been sedated.” I was staring in horror at the face of my Teacher, Director Amfordas, as he walked into the room from a door! I never saw any crack showing the availability of a door there. “I’ve missed your beautiful face,” he said, pinching my cheeks lightly. On other occasions, this would have been looked upon as an intimate, cute gesture but right now, I felt like the worst was yet to come.
