Estefan's POV

"What's wrong?" I asked. 

"Nobody has ever tried to make my birthday feel so special. All my parents did was shower me with expensive gifts that held no meaning to me. I just wanted them to be there with me on my day." She sighed. "If I'm to remember clearly, they were only with me on four of my birthdays out of twenty. I spent the remaining sixteen birthdays in my room, counting ceilings until I fell asleep." 

"I'm so sorry you have to go through that." I placed my hand on her cheeks. "I promise to make today special for you."

Rhea's POV

After I finished the breakfast Estefan made for me, he washed up and left saying he had to pick up something outside the palace. I went into the bathroom and stepped into the bathtub filled with water. 

As I sat inside the tub, I realized that I had never had a good memory of my birthday and that day was no different. My birthday was cursed
