Chapter 80. Good News, Bad News
Ben cleared his throat softly.
“Um, Kei, I should probably take Julia home and make sure she’s okay. I’ll talk to her and figure out the best way out. Are you okay with that?” he asked nervously. As usual, Keira felt a throbbing pain in her joints, but she managed to hide the pain well.
“Didn’t I tell you you can do whatever you want? I’ll be fine!” she chirped. She averted her eyes from Ben and stared at the diamond bracelet in her hand, which suddenly didn’t look as beautiful as she had first seen it.
Even though she pretended to be indifferent, the awkward atmosphere that followed was unavoidable. It was Ben who felt guilty, and Keira who was too afraid to show her jealousy. Luckily the appearance of Dr. Brown and two nurses rescued them.
“So we’re going to do an MRI after this, but the way I’ve received your urine and blood test results and I got something surprising...” said Dr. Brown lightly.
