Chapter 70

My four friends had left when I got back to the waiting room. Marcia, Sam and Zoe remaining. Before Lisa was ready to go, Julia had been wheeled away for more tests. They were still using a gurney for her, which made me nervous. Hopefully, it was more a precaution than a necessity. When she told me Lisa was ready to go, she'd already helped her dress. She told me they'd just given her another V***din, but told me to get the prescription filled as her ribs would be very painful for several days. She also gave me a couple pages of instructions, and several more cotton things for her nose. I helped get Lisa into a wheelchair, which the nurse wheeled to the exit where I could pick her up. Marcia and Sam offered to drive Lisa home and get her settled while I got the prescription filled, so I took them up on it. Zoe came with me.

It took over a half hour to be filled, so we went to a grocery next door to pick up food for tonight.
