Chapter 26. Ashes
Leon’s cell phone rang, and he answered it.
“Bring out all the innocent, and you’ll have nothing left?! What?!”
Leon turned pale, and his jaw tightened.
“Well…well…well.” Dad smiled while holding a gun.
Leon didn’t speak and just stared at his father, who was tied up and pointed a gun at him, and his mom, who pointed at papa’s gun.
“Dad, that’s enough.”
“Don’t be stupid! You stupid child!” Dad shouted at me. Leon hugged me tightly.
“Run, Angelica,” he whispered and sealed my tears.
“N-No…”
“Just run. I don’t want you to see this.”
I still shook my head and hugged him tightly. Many with a papa woke up while Leon and I were alone. His comrades continued to fight outside.
“Where’re your two best friends Leon? Have Diego and Marco lost their testicles?” papa laughed again.
“Stop this, Paul! Can you just kill me?” Leon’s father shouted.
“Mariano please. No.” Leon’s mother cried, and papa cried.
