Chapter 36. Femininity
Captain Mariano laughed incessantly as his grandson James Felix leaned over.
“You look like your father when he was young…” another bark of laughter from Captain Mariano. He seemed so amused to see a little Leon.
Leon just closed his eyes watching the two. They talked to the two of them. I also waited an hour for them to finish.
I was saddened by the likely miracle that Captain Mariano survived but Leon’s mother did not.
I’m guilty. I am the daughter of the man who killed Leon’s mother. But here I am in front of them now, safe and I have not felt any fear. I am hurt because they are in front of me now and a full smile is bestowed on my son. No reproach or anything.
“Even if I want us to celebrate today, I know you’re tired.” it made me smile. He’s a soft version of Leon. He glanced at me.
“Let’s rest first now and I want my grandson to be with me for a while…”
James Felix smiled as Captain hugged then Felix muttered. “Cool man. Cool…”
