Matteo’s face paled, and he sat frozen on the spot. How the f*ck did he find out about Di Salvo? It was his dark past, and he hadn’t informed a soul about himself.

“You’re wrong, Bill. I have no reason to hide from anyone. I’ve left the mafia circuit long back.” He tried his best to put him off his trail. He wouldn’t give in at all. Phantom laughed, his eyes glittering with disbelief.

“Yet Di Salvo and his men are hunting for you. I don’t think you know that Luigi, his right-hand man, is now, here, in NYC. It’ll just take a phone call to bring them to your doorstep to capture you, Matteo. But I can save you from them if you marry Cadence and join us. Think it over. I’ll wait for two days only for your final decision.”
