As he neared his destination, his determination started to weaken. What if she had really moved on? What if she was in a steady relationship? Maybe Gia wasn’t aware of it. Why else would Emilia live all by herself? Did he do the right thing by checking out of the hotel?

He looked at the posh neighborhood he was in, with skyscrapers and magnificent condominiums fit for celebrities. He had never expected Emilia to belong to this world. She was so different from the others. Her simplicity, her innocence, her kindness, and her humble nature didn’t fit in here.

The cab stopped in front of a grand condominium. He paid the kind cab driver who helped him unload the luggage. The guard helped him, noticing how injured he was.
