“Ryan called to ask about the divorce papers. He told me.”

“Do you want me to talk to your dad? Or do you want to go home?” he asked with worry.

“Ryan suggested not to visit him now. Dad will deal with Rafael his own way first. We can visit them after the wedding.”

“We can postpone the wedding, cara. I can wait,” he said anxiously. Amelia looked at him with hope.

“Can we? I don’t want to get married without them.”

“Sure. We will marry when they forgive us. Happy now? I’ll cancel the date preparations for tonight if you want to stay at home.”

Amelia shook her head. She wanted to go out on a date with him. She wanted to celebrate her freedom from Ryder.

“No, please. I want to go out with you,” she whispered. Matteo cupped her cheek and kissed her deeply and lingeringly.

“Me too, baby. Get ready in a jiffy then, or we’ll be late.” Amelia rushed to the closet to grab a dress to wear.

“I’ll be with you in five minutes.”
