I woke up the next day, exhausted from not getting enough sleep. I glance around the room and notice he's gone. Did I somehow force him to stay?
Maybe he didn't have a choice after I screamed out in my nightmare, pleading for him to stay.
I have to control myself not to jump on Logan last night. The closeness is overwhelming, but he seems completely unaffected. My heart tugs, seeing he didn't make a move; I have to remind myself that returning to Logan is not an option. I can’t risk getting burned again.
Right now, my son should be my focus. I slowly get out of bed and make my way to his room.
