Nadine

I know I shouldn't be here, witnessing this, but somehow, I am. Maybe it's sheer luck-or maybe it's fate. Either way, I can't look away. 

A part of me tells me I should have reached out to Nathalie. She was there for me during my worst moments, especially when I was hospitalized after my breakdown because of that delusional woman, Sydney. 

But right now, none of that matters. 

"You want the truth?" The woman's voice rings out. She crosses her arms with an unbothered poise. 

"Yes, I'm his mistress. And he's been with me the entire time he was away from home. Is that the confession you were waiting for? Fine. I've admitted it on his behalf." 

Jake's eyes widened in shock, his entire body stiffening. For the first time, I saw a genuine surprise flash across his face. 

He wasn't expecting this. 

He turns to her with a tight voice, but you can see confusion in his eyes.
