Deiseree’s POV

I was already lying down beside Luke and Chris, hearing every breath they made, but I still couldn’t reassure myself that they would always be safe. It was already late at night, but I still couldn’t fall asleep. I took a deep breath and faced them.

“Luke, Chris,” I caressed their faces. “You know I have no choice. I hope if you ever find out, you’ll understand. Even if I’m already looking at you, I still don’t feel at ease. I promised Dad I’d do everything to protect you.” I sadly smiled.

“Knock, knock.” I turned to look at the door when it slowly opened.

“Effy?”

“Dei, I can’t fall asleep. Are you awake?” she asked with a smile.

I looked at my brothers and got off the bed. I walked towards the door and went out.

“Why? Do you need anything?” I asked.

She smiled and shook her head. “Dada isn’t home yet, I feel lonely. Wilson is already asleep. Can you accompany me for a while if you’re not sleepy yet?” She looked a
