Chapter 208

FEYRE

I try to slow my breathing and control the beating of my heart. I blink a few times and this time when I open my eyes, I can see clearer than before but my eyesight is good enough that I'll make out the face of the man approaching me. He is a few feet away now and that makes my anxiety spark.

Shaking my head one more time, I try to stand up. My hand trembles and I go back to my initial position. Sweat is dripping down my forehead. I didn't even know when that happened but realizing that made me take note of how drastically the temperature changed.

I'm feeling so hot that it has me thinking my skin is melting off. This reminds me of the awful feeling of heat. Feeling like my body is being torched. Like I'm being set on fire from the inside out.
