Chapter 99
Nelly was in her father's room with Emma the following morning. She was looking for any document related to work that could help her in what she wanted to do. Emma was there as a form of distraction and at the same time, company.
“Mummy look at this,” Emma announced excitedly, raising a colorful book.
“Yes, it's nice.”
“Mummy, this is beautiful,” Emma called out again, pointing at the aquarium on the television screen.
She called her mother's attention twice more until Nelly nearly lost it.
“Mummy? Come and take a look at this.”
“Emma, I'm busy and I don't like that distraction. If you will keep disturbing me, I'll have to walk you out. This isn't time to play. I'll play when I'm done with what I have here.”
“But mummy, it's not something to play with. Just come and see,” she pressed further.
“If it's anything insignificant, I'll throw you out!” she threatened.
“What is it?”
“Look!”
Emma
