Chapter 469. No Milk for Spring
From that day on, Serena settled down in the apartment across from Johnathan’s. Although Johnathan had asked Jean to come over every day to help Serena clean, she firmly refused. She already owed Johnathan too much and couldn’t accept his help without limits.
Every day, Serena took care of the housework, cooking, and laundry with Spring. Occasionally, she would make delicious food and invite Johnathan over to eat. Life suddenly became easy and happy, at least mentally. She no longer had to worry about her mother and Carina, nor was she afraid of her mother being upset by idle gossip. Although she was tired from the physical labor every day, she and Spring were happy. Spring also grew up quickly and became chubby and very lovable in no time.
Johnathan also loved Spring very much. He often bought clothes, imported baby food, and toys for her. Serena knew that those were all expensive items, but they were gifts from her godfather to his goddaughter, and she couldn’t refuse.
