It was past midnight before he returned home that night. Unable to sleep, I got busy reading some of the books the other luna had recommended to me but half the time, my mind drifted off to our little argument earlier in the day. Zelinda had called to cancel tonight’s training on Draven’s orders and it was hard to concentrate when I didn’t know what was going on with him. Because he was a master at shielding his thoughts and emotions, I couldn’t always feel them although I carried his mark. It was like he was deliberately shielding it from me. Perhaps I shouldn’t have referred to his late father, but heck we were mates. Was I only just imagining the fact that we were making progress?
