Chapter 58
[Ivory’s past]
“Take in a deep breath and exhale,” a woman said. It was Ivory’s mom.
She sat in a meditation form, and so did little Ivory, following her guidance.
“Take a deep breath and hold,” the mother said once more, holding in his breath until his father walked in.
“Morning, loves, I brought some tea.” His father dropped the tray that contained green tea and sat with his legs crossed, ready to begin his meditation routine.
“Why do we meditate every morning?” Young Ivory inquired, crawling to take his cup, which was distinctively a smaller cup compared to the bigger ones beside it.
“It’s for you to learn control, Deary,” his mother replied with a smile.
Ivory sat back down and was about to take a sip of his tea. The tea was still very hot, and the couple had planned to wait for it to cool off.
Not noticing that Ivory was about to take a sip, his father failed to react in time.
