“So, what do we do now?” Heather wandered into the air. They had already arrived, and Zac had parked outside the building.
She groaned in despair, turned to face Zac, and explained the situation to him.
“Emma—that’s my cousin, by the way—has already been here and picked up the laundry. She’s trying to earn points in their book so my parents will let her get married, but that’s a story for another day. Anyway, as a result, we’re pretty much on a wild goose chase right now. Shall we go back? Oh, but we’ve already driven all the way here...it would be a waste of a trip if we just turned back now...”
She bit at her thumbnail and pondered.
“Maybe we could go sightseeing? Window shopping? Are you tired, Zac?”
He shook his head, wondering where she was heading.
