Heather walked out of Igalmen’s office and bumped into Veronica.

Her arms were laden with cups of instant coffee, bottles of water, and a few stale pretzels.

Heather raised both eyebrows in surprise.

“It’s my turn to refill,” Veronica said by way of explanation.

Heather, for a reason she couldn’t even explain to herself, offered to help her carry them to their hungry coworkers.

It wasn’t something she’d usually do. She usually left her underlings to do things themselves, saying it would build up their character.

Veronica was delighted at the change and used this opportunity to talk to her idol. “Isn’t it nice that we might finish up before Christmas break? What are your plans for Christmas?”

Heather shrugged, focusing on a stain on the carpet. “Probably spend it at home, what about you?”
