They had to come up for air after a while, so they broke apart.
‘I can’t believe I just did that!’ Heather thought to herself, bringing her hands to her mouth.
Zac couldn’t believe it either. “I can’t believe you just did that,” he said to her.
She wrung her hands together anxiously. “I know. I’m sorry. I know we aren’t dating or anything, but I just...I don’t know. I couldn’t help it, I suppose. Are you mad at me?”
Zac flicked her forehead again. “What did I tell you about overthinking things, Heather?” he said as he rolled his eyes. “I’m not mad at you. I’m just mad I didn’t get to do it first,” he said playfully.
She blinked. Twice. Then she grinned.
The movie went by without a hitch after that, and neither of them noticed the eerie smiling figure seated two rows away, with a perfect view of the pair of them. The person tucked their phone back in their pocket and patted it twice for good luck. Revenge was on its way.
