Chapter 14. Shifting of The Wolf

Zara’s POV

I woke up to a gloomy birthday morning in the hospital and I scrunched my nose in annoyance when the smell of chloroform and other septic liquids invaded my nostrils.

“How do you feel, sweetie?” Ingrid asked as she helped me up from the bed.

“I feel much better, Ingrid. How is Ja- I mean Uncle Jax?” I asked.

“He is still in the ICU unit,” she replied while injecting a medicine shot in me. “We were able to eject out all the poison from his body but he is still kept in the ICU unit for observation. However, don’t worry he is stable and will be discharged in a few days,” she smiled and left me alone in the room to change out of my green hospital clothes.

I felt sad as I thought that Jax wouldn’t be there to celebrate my birthday with me but a part of me was more relieved that he was at least out of danger now.
