Chapter 28. Lover’s Pain

Joy’s POV

The next hour was spent licking ice cream off each other’s fingers and laughing while he kept my back pressed to his front and kept scenting me for some reason.

A human could have never guessed but being an Alpha myself, I could tell from his slow and light movements that he was slowly, slowly scenting me. It seemed like he was unable to stop himself from doing so.

He would seem to be at war with his wolf at times and then lightly scent me and then concentrate back to the movie we were watching and then continue joking and ruining the movie with his hilarious commentary before he would get distracted by his wolf again.

At one point, I felt like asking him to openly scent me to calm down his wolf but the burning sensation at the side of my neck where I had felt get heavy before, had me whimpering and pushing myself further back in Lex’s embrace to find reprieve.

It hurt!
