Chapter 116. Restless Silences
They had all not been sleeping well, though no one admitted it out loud.
Today, they were all in the kitchen, their tense posture betraying the restless energy that plagued them all.
Limbo… that was what this felt like.
It had been days of silence, along with a crushing feeling like they were stuck in a place unable to move forward or go back. It was beginning to erode the foundation of their collective resolve.
"I can't do this anymore," Hayden muttered suddenly, his voice sounding like it had been dragged through gravel.
He was standing, staring at a cup of coffee that had long since gone cold with his red-rimmed and sunken eyes.
He seemed to be doing worse than them… even than her.
At first, it was subtle; restless shifting in sleep.
