Chapter 125. The Night of Promises
“It’s finally prom night. The most awaited unconventional event of the year, hosted by the famous Mrs. Myla Oakley,” one reporter said into the camera. “The woman many are calling the angel of troubled youth will be arriving shortly after many months away from the limelight.”
“Tonight’s gala is expected to raise millions as usual for rehabilitation and educational programs…” Her male counterpart added, chuckling lightly. “…for 'vulnerable' children as we have been advised to call them.”
A journalist nearby snorted softly.“Angel?” he muttered to another. “Is that what we’re calling an enabler now?”
His companion raised an eyebrow. “Enabler?”
“Giving resources to kids with criminal records, behavioral issues, and psychological problems. Some people believe the focus should be on children who haven’t already crossed the line.”
