"Mrs. Oakley, we really need to move faster. You will most likely be called to the stage in less than three minutes," the security guard urged, his alert eyes darting around the hallway.
He was the personal bodyguard Jared had assigned to her.
“I know,” Myla replied, breathless but amused. “But I’m so pressed, and if I don’t get out of this corset soon, I might actually pee myself in front of all those people and pass out before the speech.”
The guard chuckled under his breath. “I don’t know how women survive in these things,” he said.
“You don’t,” Myla muttered, chuckling along with him as they hurried as fast as her heels and dress would allow. “You suffer through them.”
