As soon as the ultrasound technician hands me the printed copies, I tuck them carefully in the diaper bag. I can’t wait to show the guys later. I haven’t seen much of them since the other night when we were all together. Usually, I’m already knocked out by the time they drag themselves home in the early hours of the morning, and when I wake up, they’re already gone again.

I know they feel bad for missing my second appointment, but I told them it was okay. Someone’s targeting the club, and they need to figure out who it is and eliminate the threat. Still, that doesn’t stop my heart from aching every time I reach for them in my sleep and find nothing but cold sheets.

At this point, I’m starting to wonder if Gray is ever coming back. He still hasn’t told anyone what he’s up to or even where he is. But he’s been communicating, so at least we know he’s alive.
