I followed behind Shane hesitantly, each step making me feel like I was about to make the biggest mistake of my life. But did I really have a choice now? I couldn’t turn back even if I wanted to. Not when he had already given the full payment to Jeremy and sent them away.

Jeremy might have forgiven me after my dad went and threw a tantrum at the restaurant, but this time, I don’t think he’ll be as forgiving.
