He stepped aside to let her into the office. He closed the door and sat back behind his desk. Raine sat down on his lap.

“Sit. What’s your name?” he asked.

“Pamela,” she replied as she sat down.

“Pamela?” Raine asked.

“Just Pamela,” she replied.

Raine looked like she was thinking pretty hard, but didn’t say anything.

“Okay, you’ve got my attention. Talk,” Jax demanded.

“Before I tell you, I need to know that it won’t go any further than this room,” Pamela explained.

“Sweetheart, I can’t promise shit till I know what you have to say,” Jax replied.

“Okay.”
