Chapter 37

Kim sent Ice a text. “Dunno where you are, but I hope you’re safe. I really need you right now.”

She got no response from Ice.

The next day, she took her dad to make burial arrangements for her funeral. Afterwards, Kim sat in her window seat in her old bedroom. Still no response from Ice.

She decided to send him another text. “Nanna passed away. Wish you were here with me. Stay safe.”

Two more days passed with no response from Ice.

The funeral was finally here. Her dad’s boss’s son walked with her and sat with her at the funeral. They were grooming him to take over the business. He’d shown interest in her in the past, but Kim always turned him down. He was a nice guy, but she had no feelings toward him at all.
